Quilted Wall Hangings

Creating with fabric makes my heart sing.

Over twenty years ago, a quilting class piqued my interest in creating with fabric. That same quilt still covers my bed. It is a reminder of humble beginnings and the progression of time and practice. To date, nearly 300 quilts later, the seams come together better, the blocks are more square and the finished products are now going to quilt shows.

The purchase of a long arm quilting machine in 2011 started a new career in quilting for clients. My quilts now grace beds in many distant cities, including some in Texas, Florida and Australia.

Although traditional and modern quilts quickly slip out from under the needle, my heart is now drawn to art quilts. They will become my next avenue of creativity and it excites me.

My hours are spent on all things "quilty"...designing patterns, teaching classes and workshops, piecing and quilting tops, giving lectures on the history of quilting. However, my favorite hours are those spent planning and executing a new design and seeing it come to fruition. I love my life and am fortunate to be making a living at what I love to do.
